In aikido, classes are separated according to age and level. Find your age and level on the graph below to determine which class is best for you.
(Classes that are not specifically referred to as kids classes are for students of junior high school age and above.)

BEGINNERS COURSE
(BEGINNERS
UP TO 5TH KYU)
Find the basics of aikido in this class. With a full array of classes throught the week, beginners are encouraged to train as much as possible. Visitors from other clubs are also of course welcome. Tests held each and every month for people wanting to grade. Once you reach 4th kyu you will join the Regular Classes.
KIDS CLASS
(3-6 YEARS OLD)
This class is for kids from 3-6 years old. The class focuses on teaching kids dojo etiquette and socialisation skills and on improving coordination by studying simple techniques. Kids can come and burn off some energy in this class!
KIDS CLASS
(6-13 YEARS OLD)
This class is for elementary school kids. It focuses on training young minds and bodies through studying techniques. Kids also learn the mental and social skills they will need to function as they venture increasingly out into society on their own! Every year in February, Yoshinkan Aikido Ryu holds a Junior Aikido Tournament for these students.
FAMILY CLUB Why don't you try aikido as a family? This class is for pre-school kids to learn aikido and have fun with their mom; dad; or the whole family. The time spent training together in this class is a precious time for parents and children and will be cherished!
SENIORS CLASS It's never too late to start learning aikido! This class is for students 60 years and over. Students can set their own pace for training. This popular class will leave you feeling mentally and physically refreshed and rejuvenated! First, come and try a class and see for yourself.
TEENS CLASS Classes for students from 1st year of junior high up to the 3rd year of highschool. These classes are meant to strengthen both body and spirit by having students give 110% of that youthful energy during training.

Kids Advanced Class
Junior Kids Advanced Class
The Kids Advanced Class is for elementary school students brown belt and above and the Junior Kids Advanced Class is for yellow and orange belts. An hour and 15 minute intensive class with a special curriculum for those looking to get a taste of real Aikido.
Regular Class
(adults 4th kyu and up)
All sorts of classes for adults 4th kyu and above. Classes for people who only have time in the early mornings, housewives and people free during the daytime on weekdays, and business people and students who would like to train in the evenings after work or school. All classes taught by either Ando Sensei or Ryu Honbu uchideshi. Come and find the perfect class to fit you and your schedule.
Weapons class The weapons class is taught by Ryu head instructor Ando Shihan. Using swords and fighting staffs, Ando Shihan teaches the movements of aiki ken and aiki jo, from the very basic movements up to more complicated techniques with a partner.
Tokubetsu Course This course is for people who aim to become aikido instructors or who would like to train more intensively and in greater detail. The course is 11 months long and begins every year in May, ending in March of the following year. Training is held every Wednesday and Friday morning.
Evening Tokubetsu Course This course is also aimed at those who wish to become aikido instructors or would like to train more intensively and in greater detail but who can not attend the day time Tokubetsu Course. The course is divided into two semesters; the first is from May to September and the second is from November to March. Training is every Wednesday evening.
